As I was driving to work this morning I spotted snow atop the highest peak in the western mountains (the Jemez mountains). I work in the Jemez. There were clouds above the peaks of the Eastern Mountains (Sangre De Cristo mountains), so I couldn't tell if there was snow there, but I was pretty sure there was. On the way home from work, I got this picture, showing snow atop the Sangre De Cristo mountains. I then found out that the first day of fall this year is the 23rd of September. It's been really cold here at night and now there's snow on the mountains and it's technically still summer!
