El Santuario de Chimayó

El Santuario de Chimayó is a very sacred place to many people. The largest pilgrimage in the United States is a yearly pilgrimage that people make to this chapel. Around Easter every year people walk from all over the state and even beyond (New Mexico is larger than a number of European countries) to visit this place. People collect the dirt from here as it is believed to be holy. There are crutches that hang on the wall inside the church and other momentos of people's recovery. It is a very peaceful place.
I managed to get a shot with a rainbow.
If you click on this picture you can see a snow capped peak in the background. (Look just above the hill in the background.)
Another shot of the Santuario de Chimayó

We were in the small parking area of this church distributing the remaining food after we served langar at a nearby community center on Saturday.
